Rebecca Folsom Bio Not all singer/songwriters can move from intimate storytelling to “knock you to your knees” blues, Rebecca Folsom does with humor and a spiritual twist. Her voice has been described as sultry and as sharing the vocal prowess of Susan Tedeschi. Her songs have been described as hitting like little earthquakes. She is a poet, a painter, a songwriter and musician. Having lived in Boulder CO since her birth, she carries in all of her creative endeavors the brilliant collision of still water Zen and the fire of the wild, wild, west. “My aim is to awaken and uplift people. It is important to look at the realities going on in the world today, socially and politically, but it is equally of value to laugh and spread comfort and joy.” Red haired and green-eyed, Rebecca fit in quite well when she toured her ancestral homeland in Ireland and Northern Ireland playing her music for millions of people on BBC radio and Television with Danny Many Horses Rael. Their live taping won best program of the month and was played many times over the next year. She has released 5 CDs, the most recent titled “Shine” was recorded at Cedar Creek Studios in Austin, TX the recording home of some of her favorite musicians work, Patti Griffin, Shawn Colvin, and the Dixie Chicks. Rebecca muses, “Of all the things we are fortunate to do in life, live performance is my passion bullseye. There is nothing more exciting than connecting with audiences through the groove, lyric, and melody of music, losing our worries and being elevated in the inspirational spark of the moment.”
